Hand sanitizers against bacteria
Hydroalcoholic gel or alcohol-based hand sanitising gel has been used for several years in the health sector. Its usefulness is to maintain a level of hygiene in cases where hand washing is not possible, either for reasons of frequency (number of washes per day) or for reasons of practicality (absence of water point).
It is mainly composed of alcohol, which gives it its disinfecting properties. The purpose of buying hydroalcoholic gel is therefore to ensure hand disinfection in addition to hand washing, but under no circumstances should it be replaced. Hand washing protocols should therefore be followed.
Sanitising gel is one of the most widely used products for preventive hygiene, eliminating up to 90 % of pathogenic micro-organisms. Recommended use of the gel
On many occasions, the urgency to continue with other tasks makes us make the mistake of applying the hand gel and immediately rinsing them with water. Although this gel does not require rinsing, it is important not to rush and to be aware of the correct procedure in order to effectively disinfect your hands.
- Put a small amount of product in the palm of your hands and rub them in a back and forth motion.
- Rub your right palm against the back of your left and vice versa.
- Rub your hands palm to palm and intertwine your fingers.
- Rub the fingertips of the right hand against the fingertips of the left hand.
- Rub the right thumb with the palm of the opposite hand in a circular motion and vice versa.
- Rub the palm of the right hand with the fingertips of the left hand in a circular motion and vice versa.
- Repeat all steps for 30-60 seconds.
Once hand washing is completed, its effectiveness will be achieved 2-3 minutes after the application of hand sanitising gel or hydroalcoholic gel.
